The collective exhibition Scenes from Real Life, held at Spazio Millepiani in Rome, brings together photographic, digital, and video works that explore scenes of real life, experienced from either an autobiographical or an external, third-person perspective. Rooted in everyday life, these images reflect a wide range of genres and tones, from light and ironic to serious and reflective. Their diversity makes the complexity of our contemporary world increasingly full of unresolved questions, uncertainties, and layers (historical, geographical, economic...), where the boundaries between the public and private intertwine and blur.
.
The focus is sometimes on drama, at other times on the absurd, the comedic, and moments of tension that arise from ordinary situations within interpersonal and environmental relationships. It is these moments that express meanings that engage us emotionally—because, in some way, they concern us—showing how the individual spectrum soon reflects the collective one. The protagonists of these works are people captured at the heart of the action, almost as in some Renaissance or Caravaggesque paintings, where movement is frozen at its peak, halting the moment of an unfolding story.

Other works lean toward a more dramatic dimension, where the photographer adopts a journalistic and documentary approach. The images, taken on any given day of any given year, are further charged with meaning through the use of black-and-white and panoramic formats, accentuating the intensity and solemnity of the moment. In these works, the artist's gaze spares nothing, capturing with clarity what lies behind common events.
In contrast, other scenes adopt a lighter tone that highlights— for example—the use and abuse of digital technologies by people captured on the street or in the bustling heart of the city. These images also lead us into visual travel diaries, recounting the long journey through territories that are close yet unknown, inviting us to explore the unfamiliar, even in its most familiar forms.

Contrast and paradox are the tools through which the artists observe and interpret their daily world. These elements are emphasized by bold color combinations, strong black-and-white contrasts, and dynamic scenes captured at their moment of maximum expression. Each image becomes a visual reflection of the many faces of reality, an invitation to discover new perspectives, to look beyond appearances, and to explore the stories that surround us.
